Gallery 1019 - Victoria Square, Birmingham
With the completion in March 2007 of the refurbishment of the Town Hall, Birmingham's Victoria Square now looks very grand. The Council House, the 'Floozie in the Jacuzzi', the Queen Victoria Monument and the 'Iron Man' all add their own chracter to this square. Walking through it every day on the way to work enables me to appreciate its finer points and to me the most underestimated of all the features is the Iron Man. Stark and rusty this peice of contemporary art is a very special landmark on my way to and from work.
