Gallery 1046 - Seighford Airfield, Staffordshire

Sieghford airfield, a few miles form Stafford, was the base for RAF 30 OTU (Operational Training Unit) during the Second World War. My father-in-law learned his skills as a bomb aimer here flying Lancaster bombers. Today the field is used by gliders with a surprising number of the original buildings intact. Today the mess rooms, control tower and other buildings are used as shelter by the cows that always seem to be grazing here.
